About Me

Victoria Construction
I trained in Fine Art at the Heatherley's School of Fine art completing a diploma in Portraiture. I won the Final Year Portraiture Prize and was also selected for  YBA best of art graduates degree work show at the Mall Gallery that year.

I work in charcoal and graphite on paper and oil on canvas. Formal training enabled me to develop the finely honed skills of observation and familiarity with the methods and materials of fine art. This gives freedom to express and develop and while I love doing portraits I have spent the last year or two working on large canvas on a theme of cranes and development in Central London. I have worked on paintings of Victoria in London, Earl's Court, Nine Elms amongst others. I have also been working on a series of works of Port Talbot steel works in South Wales.

I also took part in the Sky Portrait Artist of the Year competition and spent and brilliant day at the Wallace Collection in London painting Jilly Cooper. She chose my painting to take home with her.
I exhibit at various Mall Gallery exhibitions and I am also on the Mall Gallery Click and Buy Online Gallery.

I also won the Morley College of Art 'Inspired By' competition they hold with the Victoria and Albert Museum in Summer 2016. This is a competition where artists take inspiration from the collections at the museum.

I won the Heatherley's and Cheyne Walk Trust 'Chelsea Life' competition November 2017.
